The primary program begins the journey of students to become knowledgeable about the world and the environment in which they live.
By incorporating the core curriculum of the Chinese MoE, with a strong emphasis on English language, the programs at OCIS, within the Primary school develop the students to focus on learning. The teacher planning is based on “3 Questions”. What am I learning?...Why am I learning it?...How will I know that I have learned it?...enabling students to “see” their own development and success. Assessment is standards based not just Grades and ongoing Formative Assessment informs our teachers of the strengths and weaknesses of the students and where extra help or extension may be needed.
