六月的阳光灿烂夺目，六月的鲜花绚丽多彩，六月的笑脸如花绽放，在六月，还有OCIS最为精彩的科学月和文化日活动。6月2日全天，全校师生参加了艺术展、环保时装秀、英文戏剧表演、科学月、国际文化日等多个主题活动。
In this bright and colorful June, we held the Science and Culture Day event. For the whole day of June 2nd, the teachers and students participated in a number of themed activities, such as art exhibition, sustainable fashion show, English drama, Science Month and International Culture Day.
在这里，有摄影与绘画的融合与冲突，有学生天马行空的时装设计，有生动专业的戏剧演绎，还有精彩激烈的科普盛宴和多元文化的交流碰撞，是一场真正属于OCIS学生的盛宴。
On this intensive day, there have been exhibitions of breathtaking photography and painting, unbridled imagination in fashion design and catwalks, intriguing drama performances, as well as the spectacular and fierce science stem competitions blended with multinational culture. The day is a real feast for OCIS students.
活动开始前，余校长致开幕词，她表示，我们都向往美好的生活，我们每个人都有自己喜欢的文化和艺术。因为，它展示着我们成长的沉淀、对生活的感悟和希望。
科学日和国际文化日活动充分展现了OCIS学生的热情与活力，是全体师生努力的结果。 希望每个人都能在这样的活动中体会真谛，创造属于自己的美好生活。祝贺所有参与者和创作者，感谢全体师生为我们呈现了一场美轮美奂的精神盛宴！

We all aspire to a better life, and a better life must be created by ourselves. Each of us has our own favorite culture and art.Culture and art showcase the precipitation of each and every one's growth, their understanding and hope for life.

艺术展作为当天系列活动的第一站，在学校图书馆三楼盛大开展。在这里，充满天马行空想象力的儿童画作、手工艺品挂满了墙壁，突出了艺术、传统文化、国际、梦想等多种元素。在孩子们的世界中，一张小小的纸片、透明的塑料纸都可以成为画材，我们从作品中了解到了孩子们眼中和心中的线条、图像和色彩，感受到了孩子们作品中所散发出的童真、稚嫩、新奇、大胆、阳光、睿智的气息。
As the first stop of the day, the art exhibition was held on the third floor of the library building, where. Students’ paintings and handicrafts, full of unrestrained imagination, are hung on the walls, highlighting various elements such as art, traditional culture, international culture and most importantly, aspirations. In children's world, a small piece of paper or transparent plastic paper can be used as painting material. Through the lines, images and colors in children's eyes and their perceptions, one can feel the innocent, novel, bold, uplifting and intelligent vibe emanating from children's works.

Children are talented costume designers who surprise us like never before with their imagination and creativity. The wonderful fashion show program and ingenious environmental design concept show OCIS students' extraordinary creative ability of being boundary-breaking, loving and fearless of the future.
OCIS四年级和七、八年级的孩子们带来了两场精彩绝伦的英文戏剧表演—《理发师陶德》、《哈利波特》。大家同台飙戏，精彩的表演引人入胜。
OCIS Grade 7&8 and G4 students presented two wonderful drama plays in English - Sweeney Todd and Harry Potter, all with fascinating performances.

English drama is a program integrating language and art. As a communication tool of campus culture, OCIS attaches great importance to integrating the artistic means of drama performance into educational activities. For students, science learning is a subject that will accompany their growth or even their whole life, and the most propelling motivation for students to study independently is to inspire their initiative. OCIS Science Month series activities came into being under this concept.
科学老师们精心设计科学实验系列活动，帮助学生传承科学精神、培养科学思维 、掌握科学方法，让孩子真正爱上科学。
Science teachers carefully designed a series of science experiment activities to help students inherit the scientific spirit, cultivate scientific thinking and master scientific methods, so that children really fall in love with science.
本次OCIS科学月活动设置了自制车/船比赛、鸡蛋逃生比赛。
《车/船比赛》：学生被分成小组，利用生活中常见的材料或废弃材料，结合课堂学习的科学知识设计无动力小船或车，采用不同原理的驱动形式，进行比赛，把科学知识应用到生活中的同时，提高科学思维能力。
This year's OCIS Science Month included a self-made car/boat race and an egg escape race.
"Car/Boat Race": Students were divided into groups, using common materials or discarded materials in daily life, combined with scientific knowledge learned in class to design a non-powered boats or cars. Various scientific principles and knowledge were raised applied to competition.
《鸡蛋逃生比赛》：学生被分成小组，将鸡蛋从2楼高度定点投掷，他们设计制作了相关装置，在鸡蛋下落过程中起减速、缓冲等保护作用，鸡蛋不碎者即可获得比赛胜利。“耶，成功了！”现场一阵阵欢呼声与鼓掌声此起彼伏。
"Egg Escape Contest": Students were divided into groups to drop eggs from 2 floors high. They designed and made relevant devices to achieve the parachuting and cushioning. Those who dropped the most eggs without damages eggs would win the contest. "Yeah, it worked! Cheers and applause were constant on the spot.

包容多元文化，是OCIS想传达给学生的文化理念。通过举办国际文化日主题活动，让同学们感受到文化多样性，为自己国家文化自豪，也向他国优秀文化学习。
Embracing multiculturalism is the cultural concept OCIS wants to convey to its students. Through the International Culture Day theme activities, students can feel the cultural diversity, be proud of their own culture, and learn from the excellent cultures.
全校师生共组建了十四个小组，来自中国、英国、美国、韩国、日本、新加坡、苏格兰、泰国等学生代表和老师们分享了自己国家的美食、音乐和服饰，有了吃和看，当然少不了“玩”，在这当中，学校还安排了有趣的游戏环节，引得家长们、师生们驻足观看、尝试。游戏让大家真正参与进来，打成一片......学校数百名师生和家长欢聚校园，展示各国文化，共享国际文化嘉年华。
Students and staff representing China, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Scotland, Thailand and other countries shared the food, music and clothes of their own. Many groups arranged interesting games to attract attendees, parents, staff and students to watch and try, while bringing the community members closer. It is a well celebrated carnival with hundreds of students, teachers and parents participating, to manifest and share the diversities of different cultures and ethnicities.
世界是我们共同的家园。生活在全球化时代，作为世界公民，我们不仅要关注自己国家、民族与地区的利益，也要关注全球社会的和平与发展，具备全球意识和人文关怀，推动一个更加公平、美好的世界。以尊重、包容的胸怀去探索这个多样化的世界，是成为世界公民的第一步。相信OCIS国际文化日活动已经将这一理念根植于学生心中，希望未来我们可以拥抱更多元的文化，走向更广阔的世界！
The world is our common home. Living in the age of globalization, as global citizens, we should not only pay attention to the interests of our own countries, nations and regions, but also to the peace and development of the global society. We should have a global consciousness and humanistic care, and promote a fairer and better world. Exploring this diverse world with respect and inclusiveness is the first step before becoming a global citizen. OCIS International Cultural Day has rooted this idea in the hearts of students. We will embrace more diverse cultures in the future and connect to the wider world!
