GRADUATION CEREMONY
始于初秋，终于盛夏。2025年6月20日，OCIS以一场温情与荣耀交织的毕业盛典，为2025届毕业生画上圆满的句点。典礼现场，师生家长齐聚，共同见证学子们以卓越的学术成就、多元的成长足迹，向青春致敬，向未来启航。
On June 20, 2025, OCIS celebrated its graduating class with a ceremony woven with warmth and honor, marking a perfect culmination of their journey. Faculty, students, and families gathered to witness these remarkable young individuals—whose academic excellence and multifaceted growth paid tribute to their youth while setting sail toward the future.

尊敬的各位来宾、亲爱的师生们：
晚上好！今晚我们以特别的形式相聚，共同庆祝学生们在中学阶段取得的重要成长里程碑。人生旅途中有许多值得铭记的节点，而今晚的典礼正是对这些成就的见证。
Good evening, we gather tonight in a different format to celebrate our students who have reached significant milestones in the Secondary school lives. Life is full of milestones that we can mark off on our journey and events such as tonight give us reminders of those achievements.
对于即将毕业的12年级学生和德国双元制项目毕业生而言，你们即将告别中学时代那些平缓的"小桥"——就像我们每天从教学楼通往餐厅的那座小桥。桥身不长，桥下溪流浅浅，每天都有师长同窗相伴而行。
As these students reach these milestones some just effortlessly walk on but for some it is now a significant challenge, like reaching a bridge needing to be crossed to continue on. For our Grade 12 Graduates and German Program Graduates they are leaving the easy bridges of secondary school...just like the bridge we walk across every day to go from classes to the canteen. The bridge is short, the creek it crosses is small and we cross that bridge with support, as other students and staff travel with us every day.
但此刻，你们正站在一座全新的桥梁前：桥下是汹涌激流，桥身更加漫长，需要你们独自面对。愿你们在这里积累的学识与收获的勇气，能助你们自信地跨越这道人生新关卡。
But now these Graduates reach a new bridge, a bigger bridge over a much more raging river...a bridge that they face more alone, I hope that the experiences and support they received to get to this point will remain with them and help them to cross this more daunting bridge with confidence.
我们虽不舍你们即将远赴德国、英国、美国、加拿大、法国或澳大利亚继续求学，但希望你们永远记得在OCIS的时光。每年栽种的毕业树，不仅为校园增添绿意，更是你们成长的见证——当我们在校园里看见树木茁壮成长时，就会想起在世界各地发光的你们。
We are saddened by the leaving of our Graduates as they head to their next level of learning, whether that be Germany, UK, USA, Canada, France, or Australia. But we hope they will always remember their time at OCIS...When we plant our graduate trees each year it is not just to make our campus more beautiful, but to keep a reminder at the school of our students...so we can think about our graduates growing as their trees are growin

I congratulate all students tonight and wish them all the best for the next phases of their journeys and remember learning never stops.
时序更替，华章入新。数年前，一批年轻而充满活力的学子们，怀揣着期望踏入了OCIS校园。日复一日，同学们，积极参与每个活动，乐于探究知识的奥妙。
Several years ago, a group of bright and spirited students stepped onto the OCIS campus with dreams in their hearts. Day after day, they immersed themselves in every activity, embracing the pursuit of knowledge with enthusiasm.
现在，他们在庄严的乐曲声中，依次走上舞台。当双手接过毕业证书，指尖触碰到的不仅是纸张的重量，更是时光的沉淀。
Now, to the solemn strains of ceremonial music, they walk across the stage one by one. As they receive their diplomas, what they hold in their hands is not just a piece of paper—it is the weight of time itself, the crystallization of their journey.
孩子们，请记得虽道阻且长，然行则将至。希望你们心中有梦想，有热血，有执着，珍惜时光，锤炼技能，不负韶华！
To our graduates: Though the road ahead may be long, remember that every step forward brings you closer to your destination. May your hearts always hold dreams, passion, and perseverance. Cherish your time, hone your skills, and make the most of your youth!
九年级学生代表 lrene和大家一起回顾了IG⼤考备战时那段充满挑战的时光，感谢老师们无私的付出，以及家长们的理解与支持。感谢OCIS教给大家的远不⽌于课本知识，更在于学会了独⽴思考、⾃信表达，以及如何与多元⽂化背景的伙伴协作共进的能⼒。这些由学校赋予我们的宝贵品质，将成为伴随我⼀⽣的宝贵财富。
最后，她祝福所有的毕业生们在未来的旅途中，勇敢追寻内⼼真正的热爱，坚定地塑造理想中的⾃我。不必被外界的浪潮裹挟，也⽆需迷失⾃⼰的⽅向。
Ninth-grade student representative Irene took everyone back to the challenging days of preparing for the IG exams. She expressed gratitude to the teachers for their selfless dedication and to the parents for their understanding and support. She reflected that OCIS has taught them far more than textbook knowledge—it has instilled in them the ability to think independently, express themselves with confidence, and collaborate with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds. These invaluable qualities, imparted by the school, will remain lifelong treasures.
Finally, she wished all graduates the courage to pursue their true passions and the conviction to shape their ideal selves. "May you never be swept away by external tides," she said, "nor lose sight of your own direction."
九年级Caleb的妈妈作为家长代表发言，首先，她特别感谢了OCIS有师德，有素养，有智慧的老师们伴随同学的成长；然后，她与在座家长分享了青春期学生的教育方法，希望大家都能接纳和爱自己的孩子；最后，祝福所有的同学们，能够成长为与人为善，喜欢自己，拥有获得快乐能力的人，合作共赢的人，有情绪韧性的人，能够聆听不同意见的人，坚持学习的人。愿你们长成自己喜欢的模样，实现各自不同的人生理想！
Caleb’s mother, speaking as a parent representative, first expressed deep appreciation for OCIS’s ethical, nurturing, and wise teachers who have guided the students’ growth. She then shared insights on educating adolescent children, encouraging all parents to embrace and love their children unconditionally. Lastly, she wished all students to grow into kind individuals who love themselves, possess the ability to find joy, collaborate with others, demonstrate emotional resilience, listen to differing perspectives, and remain lifelong learners. "May you become the person you aspire to be," she said, "and fulfill your unique life dreams."
12年级的同学们也纷纷上台表达对每一位任课老师的感谢，回忆在OCIS发生的难忘的成长故事。台下眼泪和欢笑融为一体，这场毕业典礼，没有华丽的辞藻，没有刻意的煽情，有的只是最真挚的情感和最朴实的祝福。当明天的太阳升起，这些少年将各奔前程，但属于他们的青春故事，永远留在这个夏天的OCIS。
G12 students took turns on stage, expressing gratitude to each of their teachers and reminiscing about unforgettable growth stories at OCIS. Laughter and tears intertwined in the audience—this graduation ceremony needed no embellished words or forced sentiment. It was simply filled with genuine emotion and heartfelt blessings. When the sun rises tomorrow, these young adults will embark on separate paths, but the stories of their youth will forever remain in this OCIS summer.
此刻的别离，是OCIS给学子们最后的必修课：带着中国根基与世界眼光，在更辽阔的坐标系里，定义自己的人生。

This moment of farewell is OCIS’s final lesson for its students: to define their lives on a broader scale, armed with Chinese roots and a global perspective.
